The work was implemented as a part of “Do frogs sing in the walls?” project in Asortymentna kimnata, Ivano-frankivsk. The project consisted of interaction between civilian artists and artists who joined the Ukrainian Defense Forces. My project partner, Igor Talalai—an artist and painting teacher in civilian life, now a soldier—can no longer create new works. His only means of artistic expression is through photographs, capturing fragments of his surroundings on his phone.
This installation was born from a question: why these places, these objects? It is an attempt to bridge the distance between his reality and the exhibition visitors’, to draw them beyond the detachment of mere visuals—images that, without personal connection, might be glanced at but not truly seen. By giving these objects material form, the work seeks to pull them from the digital ether into tangible space, allowing them to be not just observed, but felt.
