Intervention, photography

Urban space is full of tiny human interventions, traces of emotion set into the hard surfaces of the built environment. Objects broken with intent have a special aura, as if the release of the emotions behind such acts exposed something vulnerable or valuable, something that may be noted not with judgement, but with curiosity and embellishment. A series of photo diptychs teases out this energy, focusing in turn on the violent act and its mark, which, in the para-fiction of the work, clings to the perpetrator after they have fled the scene.
